Lenght and trail type:

1,7 km, back and forth –typed trail for walking.

 

You are using private owned land. Please honour also the private areas!

 

Classification:

Semi-difficult. Classification is valid during unfrozen seasons.

 

Suitability:

The trail itself is suitable for whole family. The landscape is rocky and rugged in places. There are no differences of height, but all stairs leading to the entrances of dugouts are steep and hard for physically handicapped visitors. Info points are easily accessible and progressing along the trail doesn’t demand use of steep stairs. On the top of the dugouts there are railings. Duckboards are placed inside of the dugouts, because there can be water especially in springtime and that might cause problems.

Duration:

About 1 hour.

 

Signing:

In the beginning there is an info board. Signing is easy to follow, please keep to red marks on poles and trees. There is no reason for concern with getting lost.

 

Equipment:

In addition to stairs, railings, trail signing and duck-boards there are six info points along the trail. The two first dugouts (No. 63 and 64) have automatic lights for 15 minutes. Notice, that if lights don’t work or go out, the dugouts will be pitch-black!

 

 

Trail description:

The trail from the beginning to the dugout No. 64 is completed logging area, so it is easy to walk and the land is open. The first fortresses (two-row typed anti-tank defense and the hump of dugout No. 63) can be seen from parking area. In touch with dugout No. 63 there are total of 3 stairs, two of them are steep. Please notice that there is no need for using steep stairs when progressing only on the trail!

 

When going from the dugout No. 63 to the dugout No. 64 you cross a private road and there are also private areas and buildings on the both sides the trail. Please notice using these private areas is absolutely forbidden. In touch with dugout No. 64 there are steep stairs leading to the entrance and also short, easy stairs when progressing forward the trail.

 

From the dugout No. 64 till the end the trail goes in wooded environment and the ground gets rougher. The trail follows trenches for a while and slopes then towards the shore. The trail follows the brick wall typed anti-tank defense and goes then deeper to the woods close to the dugout No. 65, where are steep stairs. Please notice there are no lights with this dugout! From this last dugout trail goes back to start.
